Marc Gerstenkorn: Landshut Mini is on the podium twice.

The 2021 season came to an end for Marc Gerstenkorn last weekend at the Prokart Raceland in Wackersdorf. At the final of the ADAC Kart Masters, the Swiss driver once again put in a top performance and was rewarded with two third places. In the championship standings, he was also able to claim a trophy.

The 2021 season began for Marc Gerstenkorn in January with the first tests and races in Italy. The season then started in Germany in July. After a turbulent start, where Marc was also behind his own expectations, the knot burst at mid-season in conjunction with the team change to Christian Voss. Marc celebrated his first of three race wins in the ADAC Kart Masters in Kerpen and made up the lost ground to the top.

The last championship points of the year were now awarded in Wackersdorf. The eleven-year-old from Landshut was already in the top five in qualifying and defended his position during the heats on Saturday.

For Sunday’s finals, the weather once again showed itself from its best side. In bright sunshine, Marc experienced an exciting first race. In the course of the twelve laps there was a tough battle for third place. At the halfway point, however, the protégé of the CV Performance Group held his ground and built up a small cushion over his pursuers.

After the excitement in the morning, the second run was a clear thing. Early on, Marc consolidated his position and once again finished in third place. “It’s a great feeling to finish both races in the top three. It’s a nice way to end the season. With Christian’s support I could show that the preparation work at the beginning of the season was worth it, I thank him and my whole team, my parents, my mechanic Dominik and my partners for the support and trust in this season. Without their support we would not have been able to contest this race package,” Marc concluded.

In the end, he finished the season in fourth place overall and received a big trophy for this in the evening. Now it’s time for him to prepare for the coming year with new tasks, as the starting signal for training for the 2022 season will be given as early as next week.
