Rookie Marc Gerstenkorn drives into the top five.
Strong home game at the ADAC Kart Masters in Ampfing

2022 Marc Gestenkorn moves up to the international junior class and now showed a great development at his home race in Ampfing. In the supra-regional ADAC Kart Masters, he made the jump into the top five and is one of the best climbers in the overall standings. After extensive winter preparation, Marc Gerstenkorn had to deal with a setback before the start of the season. The Swiss born injured himself in a skiing accident and was forced to take a six-week break. “Of course, that was anything but ideal. Fortunately, the recovery went very well and I was able to get back into training quickly,” explained the eleven-year-old. The second race weekend of the ADAC Kart Masters now took place at Marc’s home track in Ampfing. The youngster knows the 1,063-meter race track very well and showed his full potential during the races. Already in qualifying he was in seventh place and within striking distance of the trophy ranks. But an accident in the first heat set him back a little – as a result, he slipped to eleventh in the intermediate rankings.
On Sunday Marc started his way back to the top ranks. In the best weather conditions, he delivered gripping duels with the partly more experienced competitors
and was rewarded with eighth and fifth places. “After the retirement yesterday, today was a success. I felt very comfortable and drove well to the front in both races. Fifth place is a super result and makes me confident for the rest of the season. Thanks to my team CV Performance Group, my mechanic Dominik Müller and my partners for the excellent support,” Marc summed up his race weekend.

With the tailwind from Ampfing, the Swiss-born driver will travel on to the ADAC Kart Masters’ half-time race in Oschersleben. The race track in Saxony-Anhalt will host the fifth and sixth rounds from July 2-3.
