Double victory for Marc Gerstenkorn in Bopfingen – Landshut junior driver outruns all rivals
Only a few days after his success in the ADAC Kart Masters, Marc Gerstenkorn followed up with a double victory in the South German ADAC Kart Cup. In Bopfingen, he was unstoppable in the Mini class and moved up to second place in the championship.
The change to the CV Performance Group put Marc Gerstenkorn back on the road to success. So he was also among the measure of all things at the second last event of the South German ADAC Kart Cup – at the Breitwangen track in Bopfingen he faced the competitors.
Already in qualifying, the youngster from Landshut showed that he had set his goals high for the weekend. With pole position, he had the best starting position for the first race. “I’m looking forward to building on the performance of the past few weeks. Together with the CV Performance Group, we can fight for victory,” the Swiss-born driver was in high spirits.
In both races, he gave his challengers no chance to attack. In each case, Marc opened up a gap to the rest of the field and crossed the finish line as the deserved winner. With his double success he also secured the day’s victory.
“A big thanks to my team, my mechanic Dominik and all my partners who have supported me this year and played a big part in the success,” continued the Bavarian by choice. In the championship, he takes another big step forward after his triumph and occupies second place four weeks before the final.
“It will be difficult to claim the championship, but I will attack fully at the final in Mülsen,” said the ten-year-old junior driver, remaining combative. The final will be held at the kart track in Zwickau from September 18-19. Just one week later, the supra-regional ADAC Kart Masters will also be held at the same venue – two events at which Marc is once again aiming to climb the highest step of the podium.
