Marc Gerstenkorn celebrates next victory in ADAC Kart Masters
Pole position and race win in Mülsen
The young driver from Landshut, Marc Gerstenkorn, can’t stop jubilating. Last weekend, the ADAC Kart Masters visited Mülsen for the second-last race in the Arena E and once again saw a young racer in great form – in the end, he celebrated his third win of the season.
Just a few days after his day’s victory in the South German ADAC Kart Cup, Marc Gerstenkorn was back on the grid at the race track in Saxony – this time he was the guest of the ADAC Kart Masters. The supra-regional kart racing series contested its fourth round of the season in Mülsen. The field in the Mini class was once again strong.
“I’m looking forward to the race and would like to follow up on my victory from Kerpen. After last weekend, I have a good feeling and am very well prepared,” the eleven-year-old racer was in high spirits before the start.
This was also reflected in the qualifying session. Marc was the fastest youngster in the field and secured the best starting position for the following heats. In these, he delivered strong duels and finished Saturday in third place. “Today was a good day. We have several drivers who can win, tomorrow’s races will be really close,” the CV Performance Group protégé was already looking ahead.
In both final races Marc delivered numerous position changes and also led the field at times. In the first race he took his chance shortly before the finish and secured victory. It was the other way around in the second run: this time he lost ground in the final meters and finished fourth.
“Wow, those were two intense races. As expected, the fight for victory was really close. I’m happy about my third win of the season and now want to fight for the title in Wackersdorf. As the current fourth-placed in the championship, I still have every chance of finishing at the top. A big thanks to my team, my mechanic Dominik and my partners for the first-class support,” Marc concluded.
In four weeks, the grand finale of the ADAC Kart Masters will take place at Prokart Raceland Wackersdorf.
