“At some point you have to decide whether you’re just going to turn a page or start a whole new book”
A little over a year ago was the beginning of what has been an incredible journey for me. With DS Corse I dived into the exciting world of kart racing, as the first driver of a Mac Minarelli Kart in Germany we experienced an incredible year together.
Ups and downs, but the highs far outweigh the lows. In the winter, our focus shifted towards Italy, the center of karting. We entered what is probably the biggest shark tank by participating in various races of the WSK and the Italian championship. A hard fight at the beginning, which was rewarded at the end with the qualification for the finals several times. The opportunity to start directly as a driver for the factory team and to compete with probably the best drivers in my class was just great. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and to have been part of this journey.
But even more important than the successes on the track are the friendships that have developed during this time, the time we have spent together. We won together and we lost together – as a team, as a family.
Nevertheless, I made the decision to leave DS Corse as a team and to start a new adventure. This decision has not been easy for me and it also hurts.
Danny, Erik and Diego, I say thank you for the time we spent together, for your dedication and your time – the memories of everything we experienced will remain!
